Sony XC-ST50 Industrial Camera Still Popular

About 10 years ago Sony announced the demise of the popular model XC-ST50 industrial camera, replacing it with the XC-ST51.  At that time the model enjoyed a huge install base and loyal followers.  They responded with a loud "umm.. NO!".  Fast forward 10 years and the XC-ST50 is still around with the XC-ST51 hiding behind it's skirt.

The XC-ST50 remains one of the most popular monochrome 1/2-inch format CCD based machine vision cameras.  It's versatile, with a 768x949 pixel array and 30Hz interlaced output, with a non-interlaced binning mode that revs up to 263 frames per second.  It has a flexible tigger configuration and simple dip switch mode settings on the back panel, i.e. no programming required.
In today's camera lineup programming and flexibility is the song, but it's nice to know that this good 'ole fashion 'meat n potatoes' analog camera is still available for us old timers.
